Summer is.........

I was woken by what I consider to be the defining sound of summer - the first cicada chirping away happily in the trees somewhere.  And summer symbols continued to appear all day long.....

...this wee baby mantis scurrying all over a lily in the garden.  I love having these guys around the garden!

...boysenberry icecream - on special at the supermarket and about to be 'tested' once I've finished this posting.....

...strawberries from the fruit & vege shop - which will be lovely with the icecream

...10 minutes laying on the back lawn in the mid-afternoon sun.

...then a cooling beer whilst watching a spot of cricket (the Ashes - England let their vice-like grip on this match slip a little but are beginning to pull it back together now.....)


Yup - summer is well and truly here!

Jim the weatherman had hinted at more rain today but it would appear he got it wrong - tomorrow looks a little different though.

Ah well - off to test the icecream now :)
