This is the road to ...

This is the road to Shepton Mallet - although I could call it something else. It's the A37, the main road from Yeovil, at a point about a mile before you get into Shepton Mallet, and it hadn't been gritted.
This was my view of it at 8 o'clock this morning.
And at five past.
And ten past.
And ...
This part of the road goes up a steep hill. There was a steady stream of traffic coming down the hill, taking it slowly and cautiously. But up ahead, a van had got stuck. As there was a steady stream of traffic coming down the hill, nothing could get past the van.
One of the vehicles coming down the hill was a gritter. That really made me feel better!
This was still my view at twenty past eight.
I finally got to the top and headed home to Frome. A couple of hours later, hubby rang to say that they'd all been told to go home ... we arranged to meet at a garden centre in Shepton to save me the hassle of negotiating the hill again.

On a brighter note, Father Christmas came by this evening!
