He Blew It

Andrew had his first trumpet concert of the year tonight. He was so nervous;playing with the big 7th and 8th graders. (They looked sooo big compared to my 9 year old.) He always holds his own so gracefully. Amazing.

I was planning on taking all sorts of action shots during the concert - but he was buried in behind big blond hair and a couple of music stands.

But this shot I love. It was taken pre-concert. He has never worn a bow toe before and was enamored with how he looked in it. He was sop pleased with himself. Very funny.

It was a wonderful concert and Andrew was thrilled by his contribution to the group. They sounded great.
Post-show, Grandma treated us to Dairy Queen to celebrate.
Only Grandma's can get away with that on a school night.
