Battered Blankie Vs Brand New Pup

Much delight in the Shootsalot household as my sister-in-law gave birth to hers and my brothers' first child, a little boy. It's been a long time coming and we're all absolutely delighted for them.

I always think of those first few days and weeks after you have a baby, particularly your first, as being such an incredibly special time. It's hard to even imagine some days that my first-time baby bubble was 13 1/2 years ago and that baby is now a teenager, currently grunting from the sofa as he Facebooks on his phone. However, Battered Blankie here is testament to the time that's passed, what was once a spotless white blanket is now a greying ball of rags.

So, welcome to the world little Matthew. I can't wait to get on that plane tomorrow to meet him!
