Another Day, another DIT group
Today I visited a group of third year students at DIT (Dublin Institute of Technology) Bolton St, studying Manufacturing Engineering.
They have taken on a number of areas of design and engineering:
A bicycle ambulance, mainly to be on standby at our birthing centre to take pregnant women to hospital.
A large volume pump for irrigation
A small volume pressure pump and
Modifications on the manufacture of our existing pump.
They are a great group of enthusiasts and we are excited about the prospects of having the benefit of their brainpower and energy, working on appropriate technologies, to assist some of the poorest people in the world. The positive aspect of this venture is that there is immediate need and use for all these technologies.
Young people are great and when they are directed by someone as enthusiastic as their lecturer, Leah Mitchell, (hiding in the back row) I see a win win outcome.
Our links with DIT are exciting and their willingness to co operate is refreshing.
Thank you all, guys
