Ouch

"Tis the season to be jolly...stormy".

A small but extremely powerful storm cell swept through our suburb this afternoon. The first big one of the summer. Rain we have had by the swimming pool full but damaging winds have thankfully stayed away till today.

I rode home from work around the edge of the storm. I didn't see one drop of rain fall from the sky but saw plenty of evidence of the serious storm as I rode. I actually left work in brilliant sun and headed toward the dark clouds of the storm. Just for good measure I put on my wet weather gear but as it turned out I didn't need it. About five minutes from home I began to see fallen trees. Lots of them. Jo's theory is that the recent heavy rains over the past few months have saturated the ground. It doesn't take much wind to knock some of the bigger trees over.

Anyway, the guy who owned this car wasn't too happy but thankfully it was insured.

More storms predicted fro tomorrow.
