Big Bang - but No Noise

In the news again today I see - as Physicists are considering delaying a planned shut down of the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland. Hoping to come up with the goods by keeping hot on the trail of the elusive Higgs particle by keeping the project going for another year before the necessary refurbishment!
