Curlew, or perhaps not

In Winter we always see flocks of Curlews flying up the valley and have often have dozens of them feeding in the fields around our house. In fact out local pub used to be called Curlews so I guess the birds have been doing this route for years.

Today was the first time I have ever seen one feeding in our garden though. He/She was an obliging little thing and didn't fly off when I got the camera and even stayed put when I opened the door a crack to poke the lens out.
