Searching for a gasleak
Yesterday the gasdetection alarmed for a leak in the so-called DLN2 skid at unit EC 3.
That's the enclosure where the several gasvalves for the different burnermodes are housed.
So the first thing we did yesterday after receiving the alarm was checking at the spot how bad it was and after that we decided to go up in load to go to another burnermode.
But tonight we had to lower the load again to determine the exact spot.
Here Bob is sniffing with the special tool while trainee Gert-Jan is looking at the results at the small screen of the testing unit.
One cannot smell natural gas so the gascompany odorizes it for household use.
The gas we use is not odorized but a big leak like this one can be smelled allright! It smells like fresh mud....
We are still alive and in the right burnermode now and planning a nightstop for repair.
