One daze at a time...

Sweet predictability

The stop watch had barely started ticking, with a mere 37 seconds elapsed in the proceedings, when the first cries echoed around the Christmas tree.
If only everything in life was as reliable as my kids.

All had been going relatively well. Luca (sick at home) had managed to wait until Mimi got back from play school. They all took turns to climb to the top of the wobbly ladder to have a quick look with the torch light in the attic and scare themselves silly (the total lack of adequate insulation and its direct impact on my electricity bills is usually what scares me silly whenever I reluctantly go up there*)
The decorations were taken down to the sitting room. The flashy lights tested for their flashibility, Luca had lunged on the battery operated Rudolph the red nosed reindeer with the shaky antlers and annoying song, Mimi had located the fairy that looks like a princess (or vice versa) and Finn(-zy Bob) was straight away testing the ballistic properties of the four remaining red tainted glass decorations (what was I thinking of?!?) that survived the 2009 season.

I had managed to untangle approximately three yards of the white flashy lights when Mimi started crying.
The 2010 edition of Christmas had truly begun.

*twice a year: mid-December to fetch the Christmas decoration and drop the Halloween decorations. Mid-May to drop the Christmas decorations and bring down the Halloween ones cause there no shaggin way I'm going up there more than twice a year**
