Light from a rising sun
Today we went through to Inverness to do some Christmas Shopping. We left shortly after 9-00 am because I wanted to travel when it was a little warmer. I stopped to take this photograph as we started down hill towards Sligachan. By this time the sun was very close to appearing above the hills.
As you can see there was just a hint of cloud at the tops, enough to enhance the suns rays. The pinciple hills are the slopes of Beinn Dearg Mheadhonach to the left; Ciche na Beinne Deirge which is the whole hill middle left; Beyond and to the right is the end of Blabheinn with orange light across it. Also between it and Ciche na Beinn Deirge there is some small tooth like tops which I believe to be Garbh bheinn. The slope to the right is Marsco.
We are forecast to get some really cold winds from the Arctic by the end of the week hence our decision to travel today.
