Blackheath was well known for it's fabulous play equipment, made locally and totally unique. The most famous was the rocket which was very high with a ladder right through the middle and a slippery dip about 2/3s of the way up - but even then it was white-knuckley high. And in summer, a shocking hot agony behind the knees!

Some years ago these were all removed as they were deemed too dangerous for our children - only a few of the tamer ones survive. This is one. . .
