All Wet

Buckets and buckets of rain have led to overflowing gutters and to flooded spaces in our downstairs. Pictured is my office/studio. Amazing what a 1/4 inch of water can do! Had to clear out everything: desk, tables, bookshelf, storage units, cupboard, etc. Laminate floor was ripped out. Carpet in adjoining areas is pulled up so it and the pads can dry. Fans are going. Insurance adjuster has been called. Friends came over and were amazing! Some sheet rock will need to come out. Mr. Odd Days thinks he can do that it the next couple of days. Thankfully he has two weeks off very soon for the school's Christmas break and will be able to get a lot of the work done. I didn't lose too much and nothing of great value. Just a huge mess as everything had to be moved out of my office. Guess now I have the opportunity to rearrange my creative space and chose a new paint color! :)

I can only imagine what families who experience true flooding with inches and inches of water must go through. We got this round of clean up done in about 4.5 hours. I can scarcely imagine the work and heartache flood victims must experience.
