Positively warm
The weather has improved, improved enough for the local airfield to start flying again. The wind today meant they were taking off over our garden. They don't fly if the weather is bad, the runways are bad or well - if anything looks a bit dodgy.
Oddly enough - the laws or aerodynamics mean that aircraft fly better in winter than summer (air is thicker). Also - oddly enough, the visibility is much better too - and thats important if you have limited instruments. In the bright summer sun, its really difficult to see anything clearly, it all gets very hazy. Things look quite different when flying - rivers and other bodies of water stand out like beacons, easily visible, as do airfields. Towns all look much the same, and hills and mountains quickly disappear into nothing as you climb above a 1000ft or so.
Anyway - they were flying today - although with landing lights on. I think I've actually flown this plane once - a long time ago.
