Kicksled

Hooray, the neighborhood ice rink got a snow plow and a new layer of water this afternoon. In -12C it was ready for skating in no time. The ice was bumpy but the girls didn't mind a bit - they were swetting and hot when they came back home!

The previous owners of our house left behind an old kicksled which has been a great joy to our youngest. He's still hesitant to try ice skating but able to join the fun on the ice with his "police car" as he calls it. (The policemen here have cars and bikes and horses, you name it, but how come I never see them kicksledding!)

Seriously, kicksledding was a handy transportation when I was a kid - and the streets were not sanded as they tend to be now.
