Cedar Bark Hats
Among other things we did today, C and I went to the Native Holiday Art Market at the Whatcom Museum Lightcatcher Building. There were lots of interesting displays, but the lighting was awful -- large, dimly-lit areas with tiny patches of bright light.
The photo shows a cedar bark hat being made by Eythl Warbus, a member of the Lummi Nation. Her husband, Floyd, harvests and prepares the bark strips.
