keeping in touch

The Advent season is a time when we usually try (and often fail) to send out letters to family and friends. This year we're doing something a little different. There hasn't been all that much to write about and, since "one picture is worth a thousand words," we're contenting ourselves with simply offering a current photo and a small greeting in our own words.

We searched the 'net and found a decent site that's making the card up. It's a gatefold which opens up like a triptych, with the greeting on one wing, our picture in the center and a salutation on the right. The price wasn't too bad, the quality good, it was easily uploaded from home and they delivered the finished cards via UPS within a week!

The only glitch was that they're only set up for a 4:3 aspect ratio, so our 3:2 photo had to be cropped on the sides. It still works, though, and we're pretty pleased with the whole thing. (Though we would have liked to have written something more personal on every card ~ but that's what has often kept us from completing the task in the past!) Better a little than none at all....
