Copnor Christmas Extravaganza
Yesterday (Friday) was a tale of two performances. I had the pleasure of witnessing not one, but two fantastic performances.
First up was Copnor Infant School Year 1 Christmas Play. Oliver was chosen to be a narrator for this - a significant promotion from last years appearance as a sheep. Maybe this was something to do with his excellent reading skills. He is reading books suitable for children a year older than his current age of 5 (nearly 6 in January). As parents, we were invited by the deputy head to take a few photos at the end of the play. A good job as we were sat on the wrong side and my flash simply couldn't reach were Oliver was sat. I was pleased with this shot though.
Second up (after a busy day at work) was Runrig at the Southampton Guildhall. First time I saw this group live, was at Edinburgh Castle, then Donnie Munros farewell concert at Stirling Castle. Their lead singer, Bruce Guthro was heard cursing blessing the Scottish weather and was clearly enjoying the 'tropical' south coast. Apparently Runrig are taking a break next year so that they can write some new music, which I will be eagerly awaiting. I have to say that this concert was fantastic and, as usual, the group clearly enjoyed performing - as did Oliver in his school play.
It was no contest really for this blip. I didn't fancy taking my big camera to the concert.
So, for runrig fans..... A small snapshot.
