Fall Winter

Today we had early closing of campus due to the impending of arrival of what has been termed a "short duration, high impact" snowstorm. I left campus early and there was barely a flake in the sky only to be in blizzard conditions on the way home less than 10 minutes later. Well, they didn't lie, it was a sudden onset storm.

This photo I guess is proof that when I was walking off campus it was not snowing. I noticed these fall leaves with their winter ice imprints on the walkway. Clearly they were frozen to the ground at one point to make the imprint but thawed enough to become detached from their winter shadows.

Should mention that this shot was not arranged in any way this is exactly how I found it. Sometimes walking along staring at the ground thinking about blipping is very productive!
