The thaw

The snow has been melting all day to reveal the muddy, brown, wet earth. It certainly doesn't look as nice but it makes my life a bit easier as at least the animals can feed and water themselves. And we have our central heating back.

I noticed from the farm that the river was looking swollen and when I went down it was full of floating lumps of snow and ice, all racing downstream at quite a lick. Unfortunately, the light was too low to show them distinctly, but they are there.
