South Crofty is a metalliferous mine in Cornwall, UK that has seen production for over 400 years. It extends almost two and a half miles across and 3,000 feet (910 m) down and has mined over 40 lodes.
It could be productive for at least another 80 years. Sadly the mine closed in 1998.
