Will this melt it?

Saw this lying on the really icy pavement this morning and it made me laugh. It won't make a big difference unfortunately the ice is far too thick.

The Council were out in force with a digger and carving a path into the ice. I continued with a spade and shovel outside our house and it was a very satisfying experience; you hack the ice and then you just shovel it away. My brother (who lives in Germany) asked if the army were clearing our roads with tanks! I've not seen one yet but you never know...

Stuck in the house again in afternoon, S asleep and hopefully getting rid of her infection, A far too active to be properly ill and she seems to be improving much quicker than her sibling.

And now that my sledging injury has healed the snow is gone. I hope it comes back so that I can do the "death run" properly!
