Tracery

Well, here we go.

This is the first time. I think I'm nervous.

I've been taking photos for ever. There's a black and white snap of a cat and a rabbit somewhere which I took when I was seven.

I've been using Flickr for a while. I'm here because wingpig joined one of my groups and I discovered this site.

MOST impressive, there are some really good photos/photographers here. (I haven't looked at them all!)

But it's more than that. The process of taking a photo every day for posting here - and adding some words - will be a novelty.

I take photos most days, for work, record or just for fun, but this will be different.

There will be close scrutiny by a fairly small group of people who clearly care about imagery. It's not a competition, it doesn't 'matter' but I expect that it will make me think more about what I'm doing before I press the button.

I've only taken about ten shots today. This is the one selected for this site.

In some ways it's a cliché - old/new, natural/manufactured.

It's a record of something seen on a sunny cycle ride through ever developing Edinburgh.
