Birdie!

Another day of ice-hell on the roads meant that I couldn't even attempt to leave the street - yet another day off with hubby and the kids (time that will have to be made up at a later date of course...). Schools closed again today too.

Wee C was busy all day writing Christmas cards to her entire class and more - very dedicated to the task and only stopping briefly for a sandwich at lunch time.

Wee D was quiet and pottered around, content just playing without creating much noise, while I played with him and helped wee C with spelling the odd word.

Hubby had a very busy day - de-snowing and de-icing the conservatory roof. The pretty icicles I blipped before here and here ended up having a detrimental effect on the guttering round the conservatory roof, breaking the brackets holding it on and it was hanging off. Whoops! Hubby did a good job in getting it looking almost normal again - it shouldn't fall off at least.

Me and wee D took a wander round the garden while hubby was busy with the broom, trowel and hot-water (!) - wee D was quite taken with all the 'birdies' that landed in the snow-laden trees. I snapped this little bird having a wee rest. I wonder how the birds cope when the temperatures are as low as they have been recently...
