Bad Are-you-kidding-me-news: - In South Africa, the ANC government are formulating plans to introduce a "protection of information" bill and a new media tribunal, to punish journalists who step out of line.

Led by by Helen Zille, hundreds of demonstrators have marched in Johannesburg, South against new measures they fear will cripple the country's media. It is a dangerous regression to anti-apartheid type thinking and muzzling freedom of speech, claims Ms Zille - once herself a prominent journalist - who has described the tribunal as a tool to mask corruption.

In a lame attempt to justify their moves, the ANC says new legislation is needed to make journalists legally accountable for inaccurate reporting. Its policy conference next week is expected to focus heavily on policies to regulate the media.

Great going, ANC, you fought for decades to get out from under oppressive white minority rule and now you stand on the verge of crushing the freedoms you fought for- a sure fire way to bring about the eventual extinction of your party, you dummies.

Good There-is-some-justice-in-the-world news:
- For that, we travel to the UK today-Mary Bale, of St Michael's Road, has been charged with animal cruelty after being caught on camera, stuffing a cat into a garbage can and walking away.

I have watched this video clip in disbelief, over and over today. What the hell is her problem? Why do that to an animal? I sincerely hope they toss her in jail or at least make her do years of community service.
