Thorns In A Blue Sky

I really like these desert plants. So rugged and threatening, yet so fragile and dependent on their environment.
This is an Ocotillo (ok-o-tio), it is in its dormant stage. Just wait till summer, the end look like they are on fire with blossoms, I will post some pics then. They can grow from 6' to 27' tall. This is a photo of just the tips of one plant that has as many as 20 to 70 of these branches.
