Ready for action

What a day!

Snow, snow and more snow. It wasn't that bad first thing, so I made plans with my sister to go and visit her at her her work in Edinburgh. However by the time Ethan & I were ready it had got a bit heavier. I wasn't going to let that stop me though and after 1/2 hour digging out the driveway (with help from a neighbour) I was on my way. Not for long though ... another 1/2 hour later I'd only got as far as Livingston centre (usually a 2 minute drive). From the looks of things the council hadn't cleared or gritted the roads so it was chaos. Plans to go to Edinburgh were abandoned, and we went shopping instead.

I've never seen The Centre so dead before - it was really strange. Ethan & I had lunch in Debenhams before heading back up the road. Tried to fill up with fuel as the light was on but the garage had run out, so I just headed for home. After a slow journey, I even managed to get up our nightmare hill at the first attempt, but then 8 houses from home, got stuck ... 3 times! Luckily some of my neighbours came out to help dig me out! And Ethan, the wee star, slept the whole time!

(Typically I forgot to take my camera out with me so missed lots of blip opportunities. I took this of Ethan after we got back, I was sitting in the snow in the garden whilst he looked out at me and probably wondered what on earth I was doing! This is a very typical Ethan look - the set jaw - I suspect he's going to grow up to be a very stubborn wee boy with a mind of his own)!

Hubbie hasn't been so fortunate though with his journey home today. He left his work in Glasgow at 4pm .... it's now 9pm and he's still not home. Last time I spoke to him he was just past Coatbridge - yikes!
