Saint Nicholas Feastday

Today is December 6th, a day when many celebrate the third century Greek Christian protector and helper of those in need. Societies evolve and change...today in the US we have taken a symbol of good will and giving, and created a gigantic opportunity for commercial exploitation. Marketing for holiday giving is in full bloom by early November and continues relentlessly through the end of the year after sales, barely pausing to observe our actual Christmas day, Dec. 25.

In any event, here is my small gift, a blip of our St. Nick, who enters our home each year and stands tall and proud, reminding us of fellowship and good will.
