Ghosts at the National Monument
Busy day today. Had a walk up Calton Hill to get some photos of Edinburgh before the snow disappears. This photo is of the
National Monument which was built in 1826 as a memorial to the Napoleonic War dead. For some reason they decided to build this in the image of the Parthenon but it was never completed. In post processing, mysterious ghost figures appeared - spooky!
After this, a bit of Christmas shopping and then met some friends for lunch.
For anyone who doesn't know Edinburgh, the buildings on top of Calton Hill are an eclectic selection of erections. Links to some of the others below.
