There is Wonder in Most Everything I see
I thought I would make more of an attempt today, since yesterday's was woefully pathetic.
We had a lazy day, getting up just before lunchtime, and then watching Christmas Films which has become Tooli's TV of Choice this week. A walk in the fresh air was needed, both to clear my head of diazepam, and co-codamol, and hopefully put a littel strength back in my spine.
We parked on Templehill and I dragged Si around the empty shops. I tried for a shot which made yesterday's washed out and bedraggled town centre look slightly more festive, however even, a nice sunset shining through made no difference.
We headed for the harbour and I managed to snap a Hercules flying over. We always watch these in anticipation, because once, one took off while we were at a football match and exploded a pile of chaff out the back just after take off, and we all stood mouths agap, wondering what the heck we were seeing.
I also took a rather dull image at the harbour. The nicest thing about this is that you can see Ben Lomond in the picture. Ben Lomond is at least 75 miles away, same distance as Edinburgh, but with the beautiful clear Scottish Air, on a nice day like this it is visible easily.
I ended up opting for the Crab Claws which were on the ground at our feet. These are only a few of the many which were laying around. The Seagirls have a good feast on the Crabs, and you can find Crab Claws laying around most harbour basins.
When I was little, I went crabbing with my Dad and my Uncle Bill. We took long hooks poles with us, which the poked into the little crevaces between the rocks. The crab would grab hold of it, with it's pincer like claw, and not let go. As we gathered them, I would be instructed to watch over the pole with the crabs attached. I was terrified they would leave the pole and come and get me.
I look at these little legs and I'm convinced the ones we caught were much, much bigger than this.
