Cygnet

Down by the water the birds seemed even more desperate for the stale breadcrumbs than they were yesterday. I threw some into the air for the screaming and highly aerobatic black-headed gulls and some into the water for the ducks and the swans. My even-handedness was not appreciated; I was actually hit on the shoulder by one of the gulls who was making a low pass over the hand that held the crumb-bag. I may have to unearth my cycling helmet.

It was good to see both of the cygnets with their parents; I had wondered if it was one of the Leithers that had ended up disorientated on the rail tracks in Fife.

I was concentrating on this cygnet nibbling some weed on the wall below me, so it wasn't until I looked at the photos on the computer screen that I spotted the strange blurred duck frenzy that is occurring on the left!
