In praise of......

....local heroes. This is one of the lovely guys who run the corner shop/off license, I genuinely don't know how I'd survive without them (even when the pavements aren't like ice rinks!) As you can see I was there at opening time this morning for emergency milky supplies (and what you can't see is Gavin the Milkman's milk float parked just a little to the right, another hero of mine, he's been depositing my daily pint on the doorstep for the best part of 40 years)

.....oh, and I suspect I'll be availing myself of the take-away services next door tonight too...support your local businesses I say!
