Art and Function

Downtown Calgary and walking back to our apartment in an icy wind. This street is for pedestrian traffic and these fabulous sculptures sit at one intersection. I think of them as monuments to the dinosaurs that have been found in southern Alberta. I have been told they have been resurrected to counteract the wind tunnel affects of the downtown streets. If that is true, they also work as fabulous sculptural pieces. They are a landmark in this city.
