Sideways Christmas

The snow melted last night and, as a result, we have a leak along our kitchen roof that has made a crack in our new plaster - hurrah! The builder's coming round on Monday to have a look. I feel justified that I haven't painted that area yet. Silver linings and all that.

I decided not to let the leak dampen the day and walked through the slush through Brockwell Park to Brixton with Fred. We caught our first sight of The Shard here. It's now the tallest building in the UK, having just leapt up in the past few weeks and overtaken Canary Wharf.

At Brixton, we took the tube to Spitalfields, ate some sausages, mash and gravy, and perused the market stalls at Brick Lane. A walk to London Bridge saw us pass the gorgeous Leadenhall Market (the blip) and The Shard looming large. It's going to be fantastic when it's finished. I'm quite captivated by it.
