Friends and Family

After an intense week of consulting it was wonderful to drive out last night to Somerset West to stay with my friends Sandy and Thinus and their kids. We had a great meal together and caught up on news afterwards.

Today I had breakfast with them before driving through to Constantia to have lunch with Trevor and Renate (my stepmother), who are out from Canada. We got to exchange presents for Christmas, and looked at the before and after photos of their new home, which they have just finished renovating.

After that it was a long drive back to Knysna, spent listening to favourite music like Hugh Masekela and Herb Alpert jamming together.

This figurine, which I snapped in Sandy's lounge before breakfast, seemed to catch the joy of friends and family.
