Call in the icebreakers

Heard on the local BBC news that the Caledonian Canal was frozen so went down to take a look. This is the Muirtown Basin at the eastern end of the canal. The canal behind the shot was frozen but there's a lock "stair" that takes the canal to a higher level and there was water pouring over the gates and disturbing the water near the gates enough to stop it from freezing.
