the process..

My Awesome mom, told her sister, my aunt Lydia, (who's going through Chemo right now) that if she lost her hair, she'd shave her head in support of her battle with breast cancer. So this is step one in the process. My sister has *buzzed* my mom's hair to a super short length as a start to the process of shaving her head. my guess is they'll buy matching bandannas to wear as well.

Shaving your head is an emotionally challenging process, especially for a woman. when the world and media puts so much on your looks and having great hair. i'm not as daring as my mom..i just bleached the front of my hair, and then dyed it bright pink in support. so i'll still stand out..and bring notice to the cause..but i think the bigger support model here is my mom for willingly shaving her head in support of her sister and subsequently everyone else fighting cancer. (which in my family right now there are several)
