Clearing skies

The snow still falls, but less earnest than before. The gaps in the snow flurries are becoming greater, and brighter. I was running out of work to do from home, so dusted down the car (involving a large broom and about three feet of snow in places), and ventured in to Livingston. I only stayed for a few hours as the only benefit over working from home is a connection to the SW network. Once I had downloaded enough things to my encrypted data stick, there was no need to remain there- wondering how hard it would be to get the car back up the drive.

As I was leaving, I remembered a Blip this time last month. This shot is a replica. Despite the inconvenience of the snow, I think I prefer it to the cold driving rain of November.

As I was driving home, I was surprised at just how deep the snow banks by the side of the road are now. With the snow-ploughs having made their way through, driving along the A71 you are surrounded by banks that reach the bottom of the car windows!

Turning into East Calder, you get a feeling for what it is like to drive a bus in a guided-busway (not that I've ever driven a guided bus). There are places where the snow tracks dictate your direction over the way your wheels are pointing.

What a week. Working in a strategy team, I am beginning to think that this has been a really good week. The disruption has given us all the opportunity to work quietly on relatively large bit of thinking that would have been impossible with the distractions and pressure of responding to thing in the office. Like the sky is now- thing become clearer if you give them time.
