Dimairt

A good day - it started with our great new janny coming to the house, and doing a repair job on my roof. What a gem of a man! He has also said that he will do some of the other small jobs I need to get done, such as the gutters. (Now, here's the thing. I wanted to write 'rowan pipes', or 'roan pipes' and couldn't figure how to spell it. Is this a Scots word?)

Then...... went to Inverewe gardens to be with my adult choir, singing Christmas carols, while the kids met Santa. Somehow, it is now Christmas - I actually had a lump in the throat singing 'Have yourself a merry little Christmas'.

I had a chat with Roy, the administrator. Inverewe has been in the news this week, because of the discovery of sudden oak death . He was saying that that they have had to lift some of their more mature plants to try to isolate the disease. He seems quite hopeful that they will manage to contain it, however.

And guess who forgot to take the camera? Anyway, I decided that Dimairt would have to oblige for me. I find it quite hard to get a half decent shot of the boy when we're not outside.

Night all!
