We spent last weekend in Suzhou, the so-called 'Venice of China', which is close to Shanghai. C was on a course at our sister Dulwich school, so we thought we'd make a weekend of it.

Our hotel was in the new industrial area of Suzhou, so rather than go into the old town for dinner we wandered down to the cultural centre to meet some friends for a curry. The building is somewhere between the Bird's Nest (structure) and the Water Cube (changing colours). This is a view up the side of the building...
