Ice

You'd never really guess, especially given the nearly 30 degree temps, but these planes are headed to "the Ice" - Antarctica. Christchurch is the base for air operations to McMurdo Sound. Been there a few times, and in Hercs like these it's very long and noisy flight. But, a true adventure!

I had less fun things on the plan for the afternoon. A small surgical procedure to remove a BCC on my face. Hurt like hell and now I have a big dressing on my face for the next 2 weeks. Lovely.
