G is for Godwalds

This is St Godwalds church in Bromsgrove.

I'm not a religious man at all but I absolutely love churches as fantastic pieces of architecture.

I walk past this little church all the time, either walking the dog but mainly because my favourite pub is opposite! William also sang in the school choir here during his first year at school so I'll always have a soft spot for it.

I thought I'd try and find a little knowledge about it's namesake but apparently St. Godwald seems to have been a saint of local repute or perhaps of foreign origin, but nothing definite is known about him.

Anyway, it's Birmingham City v Aston Villa tonight in the quarter finals of the Carling Cup so perhaps I should spend a little time in there praying with all our injury problems!
