Iona's sore paw

Wee Iona, looking quite sorry for herself and holding up her sore paw.

On Friday, we noticed a trail of tiny blood stained prints on the carpet ... and found that Iona had split one of the pads on her paw. Couldnt get out to the vets that day, so cleaned and vet-wraped it then took her to vets in Meldrum on Saturday where she got 2 staples put in to close the wound. She then had a very fetching pink bandage on her paw till today when she went back to the vet - healing going well, no infections, staples due to come out on Monday :-) Until then she has to wear this plastic collar (unless under close supervision) to stop her trying to take the staples out herself ;-)

Everytime she goes outside she has to have her paw put in a poly poke to keep it clean and dry (lucky we have snow just now and not the Somme-like mud we had before it came).

She's become amazingly mobile using just 3 paws, hopefully she'll start putting weight on paw No. 4 soon and will be back to full agility and doing things like this again.
