Pole Star
Reminded by Chaos' recent experiments to try this again. I find it kind of wierd that we see the same Pole Star he does - just a bit earlier.
Top tip #1: Wear a warm coat.
Top tip #2: If you can do it in the back garden and come back into the warm while the camera does its work, then so much the better.
Top tip #3: Don't copy the settings below. I would have been much more successful with a lower ISO. This was blown out a lot, and has required a lot of tweaking with exposure and contrast to get the trails to show. Also messed with the white balance to filter out some of the street light glow (not a lot round here, but still some).
Oh yeah - isn't it traditional to follow stars in December?
