Hard Freeze
Overnight in southern Arizona last night was as cold as anywhere in the great white north. Supposedly we set a record, 24 degrees Fahrenheit. In my garden, this was the most obvious damage. The giant Indian Fig (Opuntia ficus-indica) lost dozens of paddles. The tissues holding the water just snap in the cold. For reference, these paddles are each about 2 pounds and 12" tall.
