Day at the firestation

In Finland for several years Firestations have arranged the "Day at the firestation" event, which is targeted for children and the families. The events are really popular across the land and 11AM also yours truly was standing in line in front of the main firestation of Oulu with our son U, waiting the event to start.

The event had some tailormade program for the children like some checkpoints and after going through them all you could get a diploma of the "small fireman course". They used the possibility well to spread information to the adults of the home security issues as fire alarms and fireplace safety etc. There was cafeteria and some other stuff too.

Still perhaps the most popular part if the event was possibility to familiarize yourself to the fire trucks and the equipment they use to do their jobs. U got a change to sit at the driver seat of one huge firetruck and oh boy was he on fire!
