..........the barmaid smiles.......

Blip world, meet Abby, friend of the Daughter and barmaid/suoervisor at the Rose and Crown.

I've known Abby for years, she went to school with the daughter, she's worked behind the bar since she was eighteen. There's one or two tales attached to Abby but the only one I can tell that won't embarrass her is that she pranged her car about 20 minutes after passing her driving test.

She was happy to pose for several shots tonight largely because apart from us three playing crib there were only 4 other people in the pub tonight so she wasn't exactly rushed off her feet.

Did a bit of Christmas shopping this afternoon, bought the Boss a new coat (and a watch for the Daughter to give to her) and some comestibles that we never buy at any other time of year, like Thousand Islands dressing, pickled onions, and figs. It's started and it's just going to wind up from here on in until the big day, and then it'll be over in a flash, until next year.
