Cold Snap

Well, this week the UK (and some of Europe) has seen the arrival of a cold snap, including some snow as depicted. This has largely been due to the Atlantic jetstream being forced a long way north, leading to Arctic winds and freezing temperatures. It's much easier for the jetstream to move northwards, so the cold weather is here to stay, but it will, eventually, return southwards again where it will stay warmer.
