The thing about Snow is....

It gives off this amazing light and reflects off of everything around it. Its cold but yet warming at the same time. Its messy when it turns to ice and sludge. Its a playful little character which gives so much joy. It creates havoc on the road. It means the heating bills sore. It means our country grinds to a halt! It means every radiator in the house is covered with highly flamable materials if left to dry out. It means the vegetable rack is emptied to provide valuable features to our new house guest.

The day started very very early, infact it was a continuation of last night and dancing and partying. Great fun and chat were had, with no sore heads when we finally woke.

My boy and my girl were ever so keen to sledge today. Yesterday my boy and pals went out for just a little while - about 1hr 45mins. One of his friends became ill and they had to call an ambulance - which didn't arrive. They called his mother who took him to hospital, The poor soul had hypothermia. He is fine now, thank goodness. The boys too seem less rattled. What little stars they were, Scout badges all round. We seem to be collecting a lot of badges lately - I wonder when I will have time to sew them all on.

Today also gave us a dilemma. How to reach Queensferry with our fragile cargo. In the end I had to concede and grovel to my 4X4 friends and hitch a lift. (As a fiat punto driver 4X4s don't sit well with me but lets not go into that today). What a relief as anxieties were on the up. Thank you Jim. Friends are so valuable and a thing to treasure. I am sure there will be an opportunity to repay him at some point in life.

Fabulous rib sticking soup today - a winter essential and great to dig into whenever you come home.

After a much needed chat with my big sis, I had the chance to walk around a bit in the evening snow. This shot caught my eye with its Christmas feel and the street lights were so bright. I love the way the lights give a berry like feel to the shot.

Staying warm and having an early night tonight.
