Snow Castle

After an afternoon of great fun sledging we left as darkness was falling and the floodlights were just beginning to illuminate the castle still tinged with snow from the first heavy snowfall this winter.

I think parts of the old televison series Colditz were filmed at the castle which is still a maginficent fortress and can be seen for miles around.

As for the sledging, it was a great success as always. And as always all attempts to encourage our Bernese Mountain Dog (Behr) to tow an empty sledge failed. His idea of sledging is to watch us hurtle down the hill and wait patiently while we tow the sledge back up again. Not sure whose got who well trained in retrieving things........
